Happy New Year 2013!

As you all know, I am trying to get caught up on all of my scrapbooking.

I have found the cutest paper from the DCWV Christmas Stack with lights on it 

and used this for my background.

I "recycled" my tabletop decoration, added a title from the WC cart, and some

swirls and flourishes, and matted the pics in black to finish off this LO design.

I think the green festive paper highlights the black, white, and holographic papers.

Take a look at this cutie!  He melts your heart!

This card is so much fun!  It can be used for many occasions from a

girl's night out to birthday, to inspiration.
I started this design by recycling old images I had previously cut
and stashed away in my collection box.  Not only does it give me the
opportunity to use up my extras, but it helps me create in a different way.

After starting with a black card stock base,

I added red and white mats and punched the bottoms for a more delicate look.

The corners are rounded and edges are inked to give dimension.

The image cuts are from SYI, and after adding some glitter for bling,

a pretty ribbon, and a small stamp in the corner - 

this "keep it simple" card is complete.

Our little "tweetheart"

I am in my scrapbooking mode and am on a mission to catch up

with Lil Maddix' book by March - I am almost a whole year behind!

I was really pleased with this page since I had no rhyme or reason when I started.

There are so many things going on here -

something old, something new, sometng borrowed, something blue

I started with a coordinating paper from the DCWV Christmas Stack

and a project was born!
The centerpiece is a recycled embossed circle from this year's Christmas cards
that is matted with my a MS circle punch creation -
 just the perfect setting for Maddix' picture.corner
The chevrons are hand cut, embossed and provide the backdrop
for my next upcycled item....a Bath & Body gift tag.
The small stripes in the lefthand corner are the cutoffs for trimming
the pages to fit in the scrapbook sleeves.
The scalloped squares and stars are leftovers from another project, the border is
from a border punch and is then run through a paper crimper to add dimension.
The small snowflakes also come from a Fiskars punch and the
"our little tweetheart" is computer generated.
The small branch and birdhouse images are from the Serenade cart that I
had just gotten from my SIL.
So many different ways to create a page....I love it!

Sophisticated Man

I saw a project similar to this on one of Liz's Paper Loft blog posts

and knew I had to give it a try. 

I had gotten the Suburbia cart, but had yet to use it,

so off to the craft room I went!

 

 

I love to send cards that are able to be displayed,

so I chose the center-step fold for this design.

Starting with a camel cardstock for the base,

I added mats of khaki green and birthday number papers

to provide my image backdrop.

 

 

I added a punched border to the left-hand side,

and then used the negative cuts from that for embellishments on

both the inside and outside of the card.

The typewriter, man, briefcase, and champagne bottle are all

cuts from Suburbia.

The mats and images were all embossed to add texture,

while the images are popped for dimension.

 

 

The inside "happy birthday" is from ACY,

and the little doodles that you see are the negative cuts from the border punch.

Additional matting, more embossing, and a personal sentiment round out this project.

 

 

I am pleased with my own take on this scraplifted design

and hope our friend will enjoy it too.

This card is so pretty, and

belive it or not....this is all made from my scrap drawer of odds and ends papers!

Starting with a pale yellow paper and coordinating print mat,

I added a mint green punched center stripe and cute little carrot ribbon strip.

Next on the list is an embossed scalloped rectangle followed by two scalloped circles.

This wonderful bunny is from WW and the branches are from my MS punch.

After assembling bunny/branch image, I ran this through my Xyron machine 

and added some glitter to make it "pop"!

Some fancy corner cuts that I had stashed in my image box ,

 a ribbon bow, and a thank you stamp finish off this card.

Snips and snails and puppydog tails...

More LOs for this post..I am sooo far behind on my scrapbooking!

This shot was taken this holiday season when my

grandson, Maddix, was sharing a tender moment with my dog, Marley.

I came around the corner and there they were......

just a small boy and a dob.....best friends for the moment  that was frozen in time.

This is a photo you couldn't plan ahead!

I started this LO with papers from the DCWV Holiday Collection:  The Christmas Stack. 

 There are so many wonderful coordinating papers that can be used for all occasions.

I started with some smaller strips of coordinating paper  in the right-hand corner

and added some small embellishments that I had laying on my craft desk.

The banner was hand-cut from black glitter paper, strung on Baker's Twine,

 and "hugs" was cut from Plantin Schoolbook.

To make the photo the focal point, I matted it twice -

once in black and once in blue gingham - then rounded the edges with my punch.

The banner was hand-cut, matted, and the sentiment was computer generated.

The scalloped squares are 2" and 1 1/2", and the white border is cut from the

Fiskars tree punch and is run through my paper crimper.  It makes it look like snow!

The doggie border, bones, and woof are all cut from Animal Kingdon.

Some stamped pawprints here and there and this LO is complete!

I love how this came out and can't wait to get it in the scrapbook!

It's a snow day!

After finally getting some snow the weekend after Christmas,

little Maddix had his chance to take a run down the hill on his new sled.

Of course this was all under the watchful eyes of his mom, dad, and gram.

I am so far behind on my scrapbooking, but did take the

time to chronicle this fun event!

I started the 2-page LO with

 DCWV's Holiday Collection - The Christmas Stack.

 The first page features my newest crafting item -

the Martha Stewart Circle Punch.

With a scalloped circle in the background, I punched a 6"

circle with the punch.  I centered the pic and cut it out using the

centerpoint function of my Cricut.

Punched snowflakes, hologram stripes, and a "Snow Day" phrase from WW

round out this fun page.

The second page features another circle punch in the bottom left-hand corner.

The large snowflake and trees are from WW, the candy is from Doodlecharms,

the small snowflakes are a  repeat of the punch used on the first page,

and the tag is from a stack and is accented with a frame from Storybook.

Believe it or not, all of the images and embellishments were leftovers from

past projects that were sitting on my craft table just waiting for their moment in time!
