Congratulations!

I bought these cute note cards complete with inside patterned envelopes
at a discount store, and I actually just found them in my stash of items
that I didn't have a particular place for.
Sooo....I wanted to make a quick "congrats" card.
I never seem to have any on hand when I need one.

The blue and white background is the notecard itself.
The squares are PS, the flower and fancy stems are GS," congratulations" is NA, and the branches and picket fence are MS punches.
I rounded the corners, added glitter to the center of the flower, and popped the flower and the picket fence for dimension.
The back is reserved for either a printed or hand-written sentiment.

The inside of the envelope already had a printed design with a garden motiff.

I embossed the envelope with a CB folder for the finale.
I think it's a great touch!

The Old General Store

I am finally getting back into my card making!  I know it's been awile, but I am feeling much better and have seemed to get some of my creative juices flowing again.  Besides, it's another rainy day with more forecasted for the remaining week, so maybe I'll be crafting againd tomorrow!

I made this card for my step-father for his upcoming 80th birthday.
I chose a western theme and since I have been wanting to use this General Store cut, it all seemed to come together.

I welded the base in DS to make the card, and all cuts are from the OLD WEST cart.
I used the icon base and layered it for the store front and measures 5 3/4 x 5 3/4.
The "General Store" is computer generated, the cactus 2", the saddle 1 1/2" and layered in silver metallic, the barrel 1",the steer horns 3/4", and the fence rail 1 1/2".
The fence, saddle, cactus, steer horns, and barrel were popped for dimension.
The building windows and marquee were outlined in black.
I also punched out small metallic circles to add to the marquee just for a little more bling.

I cut the inside mat a bit smaller than the outside and added an original birthday poem.
The "Remember When" poem was found on-line, matted twice and backed by some leftover cuts from a previous project.
I am quite pleased with the way it turned out and I think my step-dad will like it too.

One last Mother's Day card!

Although I had sent my Mom her card in the mail earlier in the week, I just had to have one on hand to give her personally when we went out to dinner.

I had seen a version of this card on the Cricut MB...loved the poem that was included...and just had to try it.
The garden cut in the background is from SB and the girl with flowers is from ACY.
The pink flower in the corner is a 1" x 8" strip that is scored every 1/4, and held together with tacky glue.
A 3/4" circle and a gemstone for some bling, popped for dimension, and the flower is a showpiece!
Of course, I had to use my signature MS branch punch to add some foliage before popping the image.
I rounded the corners and added some ink to the edges.

Another fancy frame from SB and a heart from Heritage adorns the left-inside cover.
To complete the card, I matted the poem in pink and purple, and added two embossed corners.

The envelope was embossed on the left side w/CB.  The word "MOTHER" is from Heritage, and the swirl is from HD.

This was a perfect card for my Mom since she is such an avid gardener.  We cherish our trips to the greenhouse to pick out our treasures!  Since I have had my surgery and could not do a lot of the planting, mixing, etc. -  she stepped in to help, and did all she could to compensate for my restrictions.
A very special thanks to my Mom for everything she does.
Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Just one more baby layout to share on the eve of Mother's Day.

I used cuts from the Nursery Rhymes cart.
The layouts were a hit at my DDIL's shower, and it will help them keep a record of special events since the pages are already made up.  I will continue to make more, but for now, I think I am back to card making.  There are several summer birthdays coming up, and I love to make cards made especially with my recipient's personality in mind.

Mom and Dad layout

Here is the next installment on the scrapbook that I am preparing for my son and DDL.
It is a Mommy and Daddy layout.

All of the cuts are from ACY except the umbrella which is NA.
Some baker's twine and buttons give some extra decoration along with the matted picture places.
I like the layout, I just know it would be more pleasing with the pics in place rather than the white rectangles.

Baby Cover Page

Hi, everyone! I know it's been a long time since I have posted anything, but I am finally feeling better and should be back to creating in no time.
Here is the front cover page that I made for my DDIL's book that she received this past weekend at her shower.

The stork and baby is NA, while snyder and a wish came true is SB.  A cute button over MS branch punches adorn the corner.  Once our little bundle of boy is here and his picture appears in the scalloped circle, the page will be complete.
I can't wait!
More to follow....I have a few more made and will continue to post as I complete them.
