Royal Monarchy of Butterfly

I actually found time to get back to my passion for nature photography last week.
The butterfly bush was in full bloom and the opportunities
for some great shots were abundant.

Aren't they majestic?

So fragile and beautiful!

Just another day at work!

There's enough to go around...we can share!

Thanks for looking and taking the time to enjoy nature's beauty.

Here he is!

No time for crafting this weekend.
I was taking care of my grandson and spending time with my son and dear DIL.

Maddix is now 3 months old and has captured my heart completely!

Snakes Alive!

I am still in the "outdoors" mood and needed a manly birthday card,
so this is my latest creation.

I welded the card base in DS.  This is my first attempt at a card like this,
but I am pleased with the way it turned out.
All image cuts are from Camp Out except the large trees on the front.
They are from Disney Classics.

As you open the card, SNAKES ALIVE!
Thus, making way for the inside sentiment which is computer generated.

The silver metallic paper used for the mountain sets the scene.
A lot of inking, embossing, layering, and popping were done to create this
masculine birthday card.
I love scene cards and I am fond of this one.

Life isn't always a picnic.....

I have a friend who has fallen on some hard times lately, but things have
started to turn around for him.  He is the inspiration for this card.

These awsome trees are from Disney Classics, the picnic table is BP,
the grass and picnic font are PS, and the sun and cloud are Pooh and Friends.
The "ground with ants" is computer generated and embossed with SD.

I wanted to make a card that would certainly cheer him up; and since I am a pop-up card fan,
that was my choice today.
I repeated the computer generated ants, PS grass, and Disney Classics trees.
The hot dog and burger are from BP.
The inside sentiment is my original composition.

I loved the idea of the ants carting off the food from the picnic!
This project turned out great....although it would take extra postage to send it.  UGH!
I think I will hand-deliver it along with a cup of coffee!

If I knew you were comin'......

To all of my "retro" friends out there, you may have heard of the song:
"If I knew you were comin'
I'd've baked a cake....baked a cake....baked a cake."
Well, with all the birthdays coming up, the lyrics were stuck in my head and
just wouldn't go away, thus my inspiration for my latest project.

I am "regifting" this black gift bag!
The plain black was the perfect backdrop for my idea.
I started with scalloped circles from WW and embossed the white one with a Happy Birthday folder.  The stainless steel oven, cake slice, and mixer are FMK, and Happy Birthday is ACY.  The party swirls are a punch that I found lost in one of my craft drawers.
The sentiment is computer generated and matted 2 X.
All in all, I am pleased with the result.  It'll make a cute gift bag for one of my birthday friends!

Slug of a Gun!

This card is soooo cute!
I have a few birthdays coming up, so keeping the summer theme in mind,
I created this card from a few old favorite carts of mine.

I used the "stamp" feature from PYB for the background
 and embossed it with swirls.
The grass is Pooh and Friends, the sunflowers, slug, and bee are SYI,
the funky flowers are PYB, and the font is PS.
The card base is a nice deep pink that enhances everything.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

This crazy weather has given me some time to get back to crafting, so to celebrate summer with all it's glory, my "HOT!  HOT!  HOT!" design!
I love easel cards (as you all know!) and decided that a circle design would be my starting point.

The scallop circles are from WW, but all the other image cuts are from PYB
(my newest cart.)
Hot! Hot! Hot! is from PS and shadowed.
The beach scene and flip flops are popped for dimension.

The sunglass lens were cut from silver metallic paper and shine in the sun!
The scallop circle on the inside has been embossed and the hibiscus was highlighted
with Glossy Accents to give it a shimmery look.
The pictures really don't do this card justice....it really is pretty.

See people rocking -- Hear people chanting -- Feeling hot hot hot
Keep up this spirit -- Come on let's do it -- Feeling hot hot hot

Keep your head above water...

I just got my newest cart, Pack Your Bags, and I wanted to make one last card for summer.
The cute dolphin caught my eye and my creativity began.
I have a template saved in DS that I made to have a tent card cut out ready whenever I need it,
so that was my starting point.
The sailboat is an SVG silhouette cut.  I then filled in the background with different papers
to give it a tropical theme.

I added the waves on the inside folds of the card, and popped the images.
The dolphin was cut from a silver metallic, popped, and embossed.

The edges were inked with Jumbo Java and the sentiment
was computer generated.
This 3-D card is cute summertime piece that could be used for may occasions.

My Favorite Fruit!

I made this card for a friend of mine; she is a little fruity, but one of my BFFs!
I used FMK for all the fruity cuts and composed it on a center step card.
The leafy add ons were ones that were left over from another project.
The cherries were embossed w/ the swirls CB folder,
and were popped for dimension along with the pear and apple.

The cherry background paper is from the DCWV Summer Dream paper stack.
The front sentiment is computer generated, and I will add a personal message inside before sending.
I had a "fruitful" day after all!

Friends...

Isn't this just the cutest thing!  I love Flower and the way she acts so coy!
The image cuts are from Disney Classics, "Friends" is computer generated, and the background is an SVG design backed in white and matted in a pale blue.
The corners were rounded and the grass inked.
Friends, sun, Flower and grass were popped for dimension.

The sentiment is an original compostion and computer generated.
It was matted 3 times and popped to provide the base for the easel card.
A handwritten message inside and this card was personally delivered!
TFL!  I hope you liked it!
