Spring is in the Air! ( I think!)

I saw an easel card used to make a desktop calendar on Debbie's Cards and More (http://ddchili.blogspot.com/2011/03/year-round-desk-calendar.html), and I just had to try it!  She was kind enough to tell me the mini-calendar supplier that she uses, and the rest is history.  So although this is my original design, I cannot take credit for the idea.  Thanks, Debbie!

To start, the grass is from PS @ 1" - the medalion, leaves, and font is from SB - the sunflower is handmade and secured with a brown button tied with brown and white baker's twine.  I added a bit of lace and 3 "diamonds" for some added bling.  The medallion, leaves, and font were embossed using my Cuttlebug.

I chose the colors to represent spring, but thought they would be great all year long.  The medallion, flower, leaves, and A are popped for dimension.

The inside mats are cut to fit with the edges punched to give it a marquee look.  The leaves are from SB, and the dots are leftover from a hole punch....add a small brown bow and VOILA!
This is a large card (5x7) but could be scaled down to any size.
I love the way it turned out and it will sit on my computer desk in the craft room.
I will enter this in the FCC challenge for this week - Looks Like Spring
TFL!
