I'm Back....

It's been a few days since I have posted due to a potentially serious health condition.  I have since had my hospital stay and am now currently convelescing at home.  I can't wait to get back to creating and sharing my designs with everyone and hearing your comments.

A little bit of spring..

This is a bright and light card that I made for the Creative Cutter Room Challenge.
The challenge was to gather a different elements from each of the four designers and encorporate them into your own creation.
The criteria is: Ribbon - Circle - Yellow - Glitter

The scallops, bunny, and fancy corners are from WW.
The corners have been rounded and the middle piece has been punched.
The MS branch punch was used to frame the bunny and they both have been glittered for an added sparkle.
The carrot ribbon is so cute and compliments the little bunny.
I was very happy with the results.

Nifty 50s

My DDILis in charge of the decorations for a 50s luncheon for her school.  I have had this cart for a few months now and had a ball designing a few things her to use...after all, this is my "era!"

These charms will go on candy bags that will be used for favors and will be tied with ribbon.
Each one measures about 4" across.

I made a larger easel card for the centerpieces.
 This measures approximately 9" x 9".

The juke box is really cute.  I can't wait to try something else.  This cart has some great images that are fit for those of us that are merely "young at heart!"

A Star is Born Layout

Here is the 2nd in a series of layouts that I will be doing for my DS and DDIL.
I want to get them started on their memory album right from the start, and we all know how busy new parents are in the beginning.  Just trying to figure it all out can be daunting without keeping a pictorial record to boot.

The background paper is Debbie Mum along with the cute little accent bunnies.
The background stripes in blue, yellow, and green were hand-cut as were the picture mats and journal strips.  The font is WW, the umbrella is  NA, the stars, birdie, and scrolls are HD.
I also encorporated some inking, embossing, outlining, and I added some bling with gems and buttons.
I love the colors and am getting excited about doing a few more!

Mommy-To-Be Layout

Although layouts are not really my specialty, I am starting a scrapbook for my DIL who is expecting a baby boy in June.
I am making pages to start them out on their memory book and thought that the perfect place to start would be with the shower.

I have wanted to do more with the NA cart and this was my chance.
I took the colors from the shower invitation and worked the layout around that.
The mommy-to-be and baby shower are from NA, the fancy corners are HD,the flower and the picture mats are hand -made.
The mommy is popped as is the flower and leaf.  The corners of the main page have been rounded along with the photo mats.  A small white button tied with baker's twine to finish it off and it is ready for two pics from mommy's special day to remember.

Here is the coordinating page that I just finished.
A place for three more pics and two journaling squares to capture the day's events.
I was pleased with my first attempt and can only hope that I will get better with practice!

I hope she likes it!

Wednesday wishes to all!

Here is a cute little sidestep card that would look great as part of your Easter table decorations.

The cute bunny is WW, the branch is HD, the basket and eggs are Doodlecharms, and the font and grass are PS.  Some sizes were manipulated in DS.

The bright colors and springy images make this an "eye-catcher."\
Hippity.....Hoppity.....Easter's on its way!

Rain...Rain...Rain...

Happy spring everyone!  Today is another rainy, gray, blustery, day in PA - hence, my design for for the hopes of spring flowers from April's showers.

I was looking for something new, and I found this tutorial for a "tent fold" card on Splitcoaststampers
It is a very easy fold to make, gives your card not only dimension, but also a way for it to be displayed.

I made all the cuts in DS and saved the file for future use.
The base card was cut in white @ 4 1/4 x 8 1/2
The outside and inside mats are cut @ 4 x4
I adhered the front mat to the card base and then cut the circle out all at once.
The outside circle frame was made in DS and cut separate.
The sentiment, inside and outside mat are from Debbie Mum.
The umbrella is from NA and the cutie face is from Peachy Keen Stamps.
Grass is PS and the flower is made from 1" hearts topped off with a white button and baker's twine.

A rainy day front with a spring flower inside gives way to the adage:
April Showers bring May flowers

I will add a sentiment to the back of the card to finish it off.
This was another fun little project to try, but I would make it a bit larger next time.
The finished size is approximately 4 1/2 square.

Lucky Lady Bug!

This is just the cutest little shape card!
If you look closely, it has quite a few layers.  The base card was welded in DS and then matted in black, red, and a pretty small print paper.

I made the grass from PS, cut @ 2", and glued together to form a circle base for the Lucky Lady Bug to sit in.  Her wings have been run through a paper crimper for a realistic look.  Shiny silver metallic antennae, a ribbon around her neck, some gems added for bling, and she is ready for flight!

Her wings have been cut 3 times - twice in solid and once with spots - and then popped for added dimension.

Add your sentiment on the inside and you have a great card that could be used for quite a few occasions:
Thank you
Hello
Just Because
Birthday
Thinking of you
Cheer Up
Get Well

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did making it.

I will enter this in the Craft Spot challenge for this week -"Cute as a Bug"

Home is Where the Heart is

I was looking through my past projects that were saved in DS, and I came across this one that I had made for Father's Day last year.  Since everything was already there, it was a snap to cut and assemble.

I decided to make another one of those cute little easel calendars, and thought this design would be suitable for most of the year.
I think all of the cuts came from My Community except the corner flourishes and they are from Home Decor.
The sky, cloud, road, and tree have been embossed with CB.
The house, tree, and car were popped for dimension, and all images were cut with the shadow / layers feature.  I did some outlining in black for more detail, and colored the windows yellow to give the hint of indoor light.
I added lace to the downstairs windows for a "porch box" look, and added the MS branches for hedges.
The corner flourishes, buttons, and gems give the card a small amount of bling.
This would be great for a man or a woman and the calendar gives it an all year purpose.

Blog Cabin!

I have had the Camp Out cart for a few months now, but just couldn't get around to exploring it.  Since I finally saw the sun shine yesterday amid the snowflakes, my thoughts turned to spring.  Hence my primitive design for today.

I chose a sidestep card so my scene would be 3-D.
All cuts came from the Camp Out cart with the exception of the "bushes" which are the branches from the MS punch.
The sky paper is from Debbie Mum and is embossed with the Cuttlebug swirls folder.
The mountains were cut @ 2 and 1 1/2"
The cabin @ 3 1/4"          The sign @ 1"
The trees @1 1/2 - 1 3/4 - 2"       The outhouse @ 2"
The bear@ 1 "     The moose @ 1 1/2"     The branch @ 1 1/2 and 1 3/4"

I'm not sure yet what sentiment I will use, but I was thinking of attachting it to the left side as a pop-up when I decide who this will eventually go to.  I had such fun making this, and I hope you enjoy it as well.
